Rainy Summer Night... Someone Kiss me!

Rainy Summer Night...  Someone Kiss me!

So it is July 30, late at night and all the windows are open and soft misty rain is falling......What am I doing... doing dishes while listening to oldies station on Pandora Radio.... on comes, perfectly timed... "Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain," by the Cascades. My hair is thrown up in a loose top knot and I have a summer flowy strapless dress on. (why, mainly because it is comfortable)

All I need now is a big burly 6 ft something man to walk in the door, lock it, and come up behind me and kiss my neck and send a million chills shriving down my body.....well the rest is for a trashy novel and I am a lady so I'll stop. But you get the picture....I personally think rain is wonderful. Rain fits every mood you are in.It can be sad and sweet, thunder storms are mad and loud, rain with sunshine peeking through can be hopefully...etc.... In short Rain is good...especially when you get kissed in it! Wink Wink:)

The Beauty of Food at C. 1880 - Milwaukee

My husband and I just celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary and every year we try a new restaurant.  Well, he had heard amazing reviews about c.1880 so we figured this would be the perfect occasion!

Appetizer
FOIE GRAS
fig/pistachio/coriander

 A Toast for the Evening
A beautiful wine of white bubbly!

 Entree
Veal - Beans/Potatoes

 Entree
Short Rib
giant bean/pattypan squash/marjoram

This meal was amazing.  We savored every bit and the prices were extremely reasonable for the high quality of food and preparation that was put into each dish!  Unfortunately, we didn't have any room left for dessert, which of course was tempting from their large array of choices.  It was definitely a perfect, quaint restaurant for an intimate dinner.  The atmosphere was incredibly inviting and I loved the old map of Milwaukee dating back to the year 1880.  It was a excellent combination of perfect service, atmosphere and amazing food!

Classy Qualities with a Saucy Personality

What makes a woman vivacious, to have that extra bit of femininity that makes others in awe of her?  Well, it isn't as simple as it may appear, but it can be attainable by every woman with a bit of practice.  We all  need those classy qualities with a bit of a saucy personality.

So what are Classy Qualities?

  • Love who you are.  Have confidence in yourself and in your decisions.  If this means you need to sit straighter, walk taller, then do it.  It will help you feel more positive about yourself!
  • Take care of yourself.  Wake up each morning with the desire to be ready for the day.  Whether you have to run to the office, meet a friend for breakfast or stay home with the kids, always get dressed and freshen up. Taking care of yourself will help you feel better about yourself.  This includes getting out of your pajamas, brushing your hair and putting on makeup.
  • Dress to impress.  This doesn't mean heels everyday, but wearing sweatpants to pick up your children from school is not always appropriate.  Remember, you are an example to your children and other moms.
  • Watch what you say.  Stay refined in your vocabulary, there is nothing more ridiculous than a beautiful woman with fowl language.
  • Stay calm and collected.  A woman should be in control of her emotions, only time to time is it appropriate to let the tears come (use them sparingly, as they can be quite impressionable).
  • Be respectful and care for others.  Life isn't only about ourselves, but contributing to those around us.
  • Stand up for yourself, your friends and family, but don't lower yourself to the level of other people with rude behavior.  Charity is wanting the best for everyone, it doesn't mean people can take advantage of you.

So what is a Saucy Personality?
  • Take charge of your life and have goals.  There is nothing more enticing than a woman who has a goal and is working towards that big picture.  Dream Big!
  • Keep the mystery.  This includes your personality and your appearance.  It's never necessary to spill your entire life on a first date.  Let your man work to get to know you.  Men like to solve riddles, so be the riddle!
  • Stay away from the gossip and the pettiness.  Let the insignificant things roll right off you.  There's no time in life to stress about the small things, so go with the flow.
  • Never lose your hobbies.  We all need time to relax and enjoy life, this is why hobbies are so important.  Oftentimes, couples bond based on their hobbies.  Even if you don't have all the same interests as your significant other, don't give all of them up just to be together.  You don't want to be considered boring!
  • Remain at ease in social situations.  Social etiquette is beginning to disappear with everyone using electronic devices 24/7.  A simple smile, saying "hello, goodbye and please and thank you" are necessary manners!
  • Above all, be happy!  Be pleasant!  No one wants to date, marry or be friends with a dreary person who takes their moodiness out on other people.  Life is hard enough, don't bring other people into your struggles!

Flank steak = marinate in Italian Dressing and grill! Yumminess!
The Best Sangria ingredients! Fresh Berries for sure
Great Summer Time Dessert! And can be made a day in advance! Frozen Grapes and bananas drizzled in chocolate!

It's all about the presentation, so keep it simple and elegant.
Wow your guests' taste buds, but you don't have to spend a lot to make this happen.

1. Purchase in-season fruits and vegetables.  Grill or saute for an exquisite taste.

2. Pick a signature drink, instead of purchasing large variety of alcohol.

3. Create several yummy appetizers, and a few small sides dishes with your main meat. Guests love to munch on appetizers, so don't go overboard on dinner.  They might not be hungry anymore.

4. Find simple dishes with a lot of flavor.  Prepare as much as possible ahead of time so you aren't rushed when the guests arrive.

5. Bake a few different desserts.  Most guests will remember how the meal ended.  Have options!

A touch of Color!

Fashion doesn't have to be over the top, always expensive or hard to find.  Fashion should be right at your finger tips and you choose how to style it.  Fashion doesn't make the woman, the woman makes the fashion statement.  Accessorize, love color and you will create a statement no one will forget!
