Did You Forget to RSVP?

Over the weekend, we had several parties and events to attend.  Yes, it was one of those busy weekends, where sitting down and sleep almost seem nonexistent!  But it was worth it, spending time with friends and family!  Anyhow, during one of the events I was speaking with a few people about our new book, Provocative Manners: The Sauce of Life, and how one of our biggest pet peeves is the lack of guests responding to an invitation.

Why is it so difficult to respond yes or no to an event?  Is is a bit of insecurity?  Maybe it's too difficult for someone to make a commitment.  Or is it a bit of laziness?  Wait, this shouldn't be an excuse, especially if it has prepaid postage.  Or are we just that inconsiderate of others?  We think only ourselves and our schedules.  Unfortunately, not many people show respect.

Remember, it is crucial that you respond, "yes" or "no" to an event!  If you are unsure whether you can attend, then contact the host/hostess and let them know you are a "maybe", believe me, they will appreciate this!  It's difficult planning the food, drinks, decor and location when the guest count is difficult to determine.

Sauce of Life Tip:

Respond to a Party ASAP!  If you are waiting to find out whether the date works for you, write the deadline on the calendar so you respond promptly to the invitation.  Don't leave your host/hostess in the lurch!

Beauties in Ballet Flats

It's a well known fact that Va Va Voom and I absolutely love a fabulous pump!  There's nothing more enticing than an amazing pair of heels, however our love for shoes does continue with ballet flats.  They can be extremely feminine and flattering, just make sure your don't scuff or drag your feet when walking.  Always be graceful!

Fixing Those Imperfections

Credit: Lessons

What are the imperfections?  It's those nervous habits we all have:

  • biting your nails
  • playing with your hair (yes, even men sometimes)
  • cracking your knuckles
  • using your phone as a "safety blanket"
  • chewing on a pen
  • rubbing you face, chin or arms
  • turning your wedding ring
  • overeating
  • lack of eating
  • smoking
  • rolling of the eyes
  • crossing our legs and constantly moving the leg

What makes us have these nervous habits?  Are we always stressed when these habits tend to show themselves?  Have they become our "safety blankets" when we don't know how to handle the stress of a situation?

It's probably is a mixture of these reasons.  It's interesting how society judges anyone and everyone for such tendencies, but we all seem to have at least one habit.  Maybe some of us hide them better than others.  So it is best not only for our outward appearance but our inward personal growth to move beyond these habits, because that's exactly what they are: BAD HABITS.

How do we change something we have been doing for the past 25 years?  Well, first we must recognize the "problem", "addiction", "imperfection" before we can change it. Once we have recognized our defects, work on slowly correcting them.  Instead of saying, "I won't bite nails anymore", try to refrain from this habit for 1 week, then try for another week and then a month and pretty soon it will be a year since you bit your nails!  I know, it's not as easy as it seems, but if we don't practice and persevere we will never reach our final goals in life.  So let's start with the small things, such as correcting our "bad habits" and then move on to tackle the larger goals, such as finishing college, starting a company, working as a top journalist, being a fabulous mother.  Whatever your goals, you will only reach them step by step, not in a day as we would all like!  So, Good Luck and Keep Persevering!

REVOLT Challenge Starts Monday!

Hello Ladies and Gents, as of Monday morning we will be starting the Kick Start to the Revolt Challenge.  We were contacted by the company to be a part of the "uprising" in April!

What is this program?  It's a lifestyle program lasting 6 weeks with 1 additional week for the kick start.  The program is all about losing the fat and increasing the muscle!  The program includes a weekly meal plan that changes and daily circuit training.  So we thought what a better time to start this program than in the end of April, right before it gets warm out (yes, we live in Wisconsin where it isn't warm until June!)  So stay tuned for our weekly highlights about the program and how we are handling it.

I will be doing weekly posts at the end of each week.  So stay tuned to an update on Fridays for the next 6 weeks!

Here's what the company says:

"Let me explain very quickly what the Revolt Uprising is.  It is your Revolt against your muffin top and the tyranny or mediocrity.  For less than .35 a day this is what you get.
  • Full length workouts that are always changing.  You will never get board.  Plan on enjoying your good looks and 6 pack abs.  Get ready to become lean and re-invent yourself.
  • The workouts are intense, and so effective without putting you in a gym for hours at a time.  The Revolt Uprising doesn’t give you partial videos to do by yourself.  You have your trainer with you through each circuit.
  • Meals that are awesome and paired with your workouts.  This is part of our “secret sauce”. As you’ve probably heard up to 70% of your results happened with an effective diet.  This happens outside your workouts.  The meal plan everyday to help you reach your goals."
